Lin takes Prabhu to Reynaldo to meet Kavita. He apologizes for his behavior one last time and tries to explain why Kavita doesn't want him covered in the newspaper. Prabhu also plays his role and says that Lin does not want to glorify his work because of the people of Sagarvada. "This city hits the poor, not the poor," Kavita says sagely, but maintains a look of belief in them. This is Kavita's ploy to keep Lee in Mumbai until she investigates further. Lin's pictures are clicked and he expresses his intention to leave Bombay.
Prabhu tries to convince Lin, but she says she can't take the risk. Sebastian tells Lisa that Maurizio buys all his heroin from Zhou. Khaderbhai doesn't know about it yet, and when he does, all will be in danger. Abdullah follows Minister Pandey's driver Gaurav and forces him to reveal Pandey's schedule. He does this on Khader's instructions to blackmail Pandey by finding dirt on him. Prabhu and Nandita talk about getting Parvati back home. He spends all his time in the clinic and they want him back. Despite Prabhu's promise to bless her for the marriage if he takes her back, she refuses. Parvati is impressed by his support and declares that she intends to marry him regardless.
Lisa tells Carla about Zhou and she promises to take care of her. Raheem, engaged to Maurizio, asks to sleep with Lisa before signing the contract. Maurizio and Sebastian reluctantly agree. Lynn asks Diedre to make a passport for her, but doesn't tell Carla. After getting upset, he agrees to meet her for lunch the next morning. Later that night, Diedre is arrested for homosexual acts and brutally assaulted by the police. Lin doesn't know this and once again goes to the tourist business with Prabhu to pay for the passport. She gets a call from Diedre at Reynaldo's side and takes Vikram with her to bring her back.
Lynn and Vikram take money from Diedre's place to pay a large bribe. After a lot of banter, they manage to get control of Diedre, but not before the police see Lin at the station and remember that Lin kicked him in episode 2 during the previous fight. After selling the bike, Lin has to pay the money out of his own pocket, but for now it's safe. It turns out that Abdullah and Carla used to be lovers and care for her.
At that time, he was not prone to crime and avoided such things. He talks about Maurizio and Zhou, but asks Abdullah not to reveal it to Khader. That night, Lin's nurse, Diedre, promises to prepare the passport in a few days without paying as a gesture of help.
When Lisa learns of Raheem's request and the agreement of Maurizio and Sebastian, she is angry with the latter, but agrees after demanding 10% of the profits. Prabhu and Parvati go to the cinema hall and enjoy the picture. But in the meantime, Parvati falls unconscious and Prabhu takes her back to Sagarvada. Lynn is with Diedre and is not there, giving Prabhu anxiety. It is also revealed that Nishant somehow got Interpol and CBI involved, hinting at tough times for Lin.
Episode Review
Episode 6 reinforces the idea that nice guys always come last. Although Lynn is a selfless, good deed, she is punished by her own karma for not bringing Officer Flores' killer, Charlie, to justice. Cases against him are ongoing in Bombay. The new threat that looms over his head is great. It is almost close to being eclipsed. Kavita is determined to get her big break and Nishant helps her.
Lisa's management by Modena was truly a failure. For a while he deluded himself and thought he was nothing more than a pimp. But he had to give in to Maurizio and allow the woman he loved to sleep with another man. Shocks like these keep Shantaram interesting, however scattered the narrative may seem on the surface.
