Episode No 12 Recap And Review 

Prabhu takes Lin to Karla's place and his arrival coincides with the arrival of Abdullah at the start of Shantaram episode 12. They discover Modena still alive but barely. Lin refuses to let her die and takes her to the doctor.

  Zhou has taken Lisa and Karla captive and intends to "sell" them to the highest bidder. The next morning we see a paper headlined 'Sex, Scandal and Sagar Wada'. Kavita's story sent shock waves as the city descended into chaos. Surprisingly, Kavita is not involved with the story. Instead, there is Nishant's name as the author of the work, which upsets him a lot. Little does he know that he has unwittingly escaped death as Walid has sent men to kill anyone who wrote the article. He also instructs Rafiq to continue attacking Khader's businesses in the city.  

   The cartel makes collective decisions to make sure everyone gets a piece of the pie. But Walid took care of them in the last episode. When Modena wakes up, she tells Lynn where the money is hidden (near the railroad platform) and where Lisa and Carla are. Although Waltrip retrieves the number, he is unable to immediately retrieve the owner's name due to lack of technological advancements. All they can hope for is that an on-duty constable sees the car and reports it. Sanjay, the cop who knows Lee's location, is actually working for Khader.

  Abdullah proposes the idea of ​​ambushing Walid in his club. Unbeknownst to Khader, Sanjay also works for Walid and tells him about Khader's plan. Walid decides to ambush Khader on the way.

  Carla notices a hidden passage behind the wall and tries to break it to get out. In front of Kavita's eyes, Nishant is shot dead in his office by Walid's man right after he insults her for taking a loan. Prabhu and Lin arrive at the Zhou Palace, where a crowd has begun to gather after discovering what has happened. Prabhu sits in the taxi but is soon forced to move when he sees the police recording his number plate. Lin gives Zhou money, but he says he doesn't need it. In Ballyo, Maurizio takes Lin hostage and asks him to accompany him with money.

  He almost had Carla and Lisa run in and take the gun out of his hand. Lisa finally catches up to him and shoots Maurizio. Carla, Lisa and Lin run off with the money but find that Prabhu is not there. They all gather at Didier's, Lin tells Prabhu to meet him. Lisa takes her purse and leaves to see Modena.

  Kavita can't help but shrug off the feeling that Karla is playing her. Jealous of Lin and Carla's union and heartbroken by Nishant's shooting, she decides to go to the police. He tells them that Carla needs to know Lee's location, as Waltrip and the others prepare to ambush her. Khader and his men ambush Walid. Sanjay was indeed a triple agent working for Kahder during this period. Abdullah does his honor and shoots Walid.

Lynn and Carla eventually make love and the latter confesses his feelings to the former. Prabhu swears to Parvati that he won't get himself into trouble again and gives her the money that Lee offered him. Lisa returns to Carla and reports that Modena has disappeared. Carla goes to Khader to fix the mess. He informs her of his decision to leave. Khader says he has more power after Walid, but Carla is firm in her decision. They say goodbye to each other.

  Waltrip appears and Lin gives chase. He corners her on the terrace. Lin pulls a pistol from the bag, throws it on the floor, and jumps onto the terrace to escape. Waltrip threatens Prabhu and he is forced to tell Lee that he is going to the train station.

  While Carla is waiting for him at the station, Lin is picked up by the police and deported to Australia. Carla sits alone on the train and thinks about what happened to her. We see Lin vote while being brutally beaten by the Aussie police. There are times when you have to surrender to fate. To endure the pain, he thought of Carla at that moment. Memories of him were her only refuge. Love was a weakness, and he had to turn away from it wherever he found it. For now.

  Episode Review

  Shantaram delivered a stunning finale that stuck to the story conventions the writers had established this season. Lin met his fate in the end, and we'd be lying if we didn't see it coming. He risks a lot to help others and do the right thing. And it's not attractive to everyone.

  There was justice on many fronts. Zhou and Walid finally got what they wanted. They were the anointed villains of the season, although the extenuating circumstances of the past are heartwarming. Lynn finally felt Carla's love. Their union was the emotional high point of the series finale. Kavita has brought Nishant's life back somewhat, although it is difficult to understand at first glance.

  The last line of the episode suggests the possibility of a season 2 in the works. Modena, Lisa, Khader, and almost every other central character in the ensemble have unfinished business. Let's see how Apple handles this. For now, this is a hint from Shantaram season 1.
