Meet Cute Web Series Honest Review, Directed By Natural Star Nani Sister

Movie Review

Natural Star Nani's sister Deepthi Ganta has made her directorial debut with the web series Meet Cute which aired today on Sony Liv. There are decent expectations for this anthology series. Let's see how the web series turned out.

Story: Meet Cute has five episodes in total, each episode tells a new story, with a new set of actors. The setups in each story are such that there is a cute encounter between the two characters, hence the title. The general genre is love, but depending on the story, that love can be between characters who share any kind of relationship - from husband and wife to two strangers.

Performances: Meet Cute boasts of a huge ensemble cast including Satyaraj, Rohini, Aakanksha Sing, Ruhani Sharma, Varsha Bollamma, Adah Sharma and several others. Of course, one could expect decent performances from them.

While everyone does a good job with whatever they are given, it is Satyaraj and Rohini's performances that really stand out in the web series. They come in different episodes and both manage to make a huge impact on the audience within a limited time. Their performances add great emotional depth to the storyline they exist in.

Technical Features: Cinematography is the main asset of the film and it makes even the simplest shot look outstanding and beautiful. The background scores are appropriate for the situations, and the songs, while fitting the narrative, don't stand out particularly well.

The production design of the web series is also quite good and the editing is quite sharp without much lagging in the series.

Analysis: Deepthi scripted all the episodes except directing. His intention is clearly understood as one episode follows another. However, it should be noted that he could not express his views correctly in front of the audience. The main problem with the web series is that it lacks the emotional depth to match. It will be a great connection for the audience.

Another drawback is that it is an anthology series. In each new episode, we see new actors and characters on the screen. It disconnects the audience from the previous episode and briefly throws them into an entirely new scenario that they cannot relate to. The outcomes of each story are also uncertain, which is another negative factor for the series as a whole.

  Verdict: A skippable web series

  Rating: 2/5
