Movie Review
Story: On his journey, Dev (Satyadev) crosses paths with Divya (Megha Akash), an engineering student. As Dev rescues Divya from roadside witches, a friendship blossoms between them. Later, Divya comes to know that Dev is going to his hometown Mangalore and asks him to drop her home. On the journey, Divya starts asking about Dev's love stories in life. Although Dev initially refuses, he later agrees to tell his past, from his childhood crushes to his teenage love stories. In his conversation, Dev brings up the subject of two beautiful ladies, Ammulya (Kavya Shetty) and Nidhhi (Tamannaah). What is the role of Ammulya and Nidhi in Dev's life is the deciding factor.
Performances: Satyadev shines once again with his poised and composed performance in the lead role. His performance and one-liners add depth to the proceedings. Megha Akash is good in her cheerful role as a young girl. Her innocent conversations with Dev add weight to several scenes.
Heroine Tamannaah is mesmerizing on screen and her chemistry with Satyadev is impressively displayed. Tamannaah's emotional performance in the climax part is good. Another actress Kavya Shetty is good in her extended cameo role. Her scenes with Satyadev are beautifully executed.
Priyadarshi is good as the sidekick of the hero. He tried to arouse decent entertainment. Other actors who played the main roles are good in their roles.
Specifications: Kaala Bhairava impresses with its tunes. While all the songs are situational and well-placed, the soothing background scores neatly elevate the mood of the film.
Satya Hegde's photography work is good as he showcases the natural locations beautifully in the film. He captured several homey moments between the lead pair brilliantly.
Good to edit by Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao. The production values are good for this romantic drama.
Analysis: Gurtunda Seethakalam is the official remake of 2020 Kannada hit Love Mocktail. Despite being a remake, director and dialogue writer Nagashekar tried to present the film without ignoring Telugu sensibilities.
The director has taken great care to shoot the film in various locations in and around Mangalore without disturbing the soul, but the result would have been better if he had worked harder to write a quick script. To sum up, Gurtunda Seethakalam is a feel good love drama with attractive love scenes all over.
Verdict: Unbreakable love drama!
